Q1 Equality experiences the joy of his body when he does not have to do work that someone else has assigned him.
ReplyDeleteQ2 I think Equality laughs because he does not care that he is damned. It is the only time he thinks of what he has left behind.
I agree with your answer to question 2. I think he likes that he can be himself.

DeleteQ2: He laughs because he realizes that he can finally be free. No one can really control him, since he ran away. He realizes that we can control himself more when he is fee.

q2 i think he laughed because a title like the damned should be for someone who has no hope ex: a prisoner on death row is damned because he has no hope of being alive on the outside of prison, but he is not damned because he has broken the chains of his socitiey and is finally free

Q1: I think for the first time in his life he is feeling what it is like to be free, and to be able to control your own life. He had all the time in the world, and he didn't have to worry about anyone but himself.
ReplyDeleteQ2: Equality laughs whenever he remembers that he’s the dammed because he doesn't feel dammed. He feels alive for the first time in his life. He doesn't want to ever go back to the life he had before. This is the first time he is able to just take a day to do what he truly wants, and it's ironic that he's damned for doing so.
